Tired of Northeast Being Randomly Dragged Into Things That Have Nothing to Do With Us Just had an interaction with someone who was desperately trying to connect Assam (and by extension, the Northeast) to the RSS, even though Assam has a completely different ethnicity, language, and history. When asked to explain the connection, they couldn't. Instead, they admitted they "don't care about Assam" and were just using it as bait to push their own agenda. This isn't the first time the Northeast gets tagged along with things that have nothing to do with us whether it’s political narratives, stereotypes, or forced associations with mainland... 4 8 replies
Are there Tibetan refugees in Northeast India? Last time I saw a female YouTuber on YouTube, she mainly posted her life vlogs, I thought she was a native, but when I checked her IG account, she posted content about Tibetan Buddhism and the Dalai Lama, I realized that she might be a Tibetan refugee… She lives in a village called Gelling, which is very close to the McMahon Line; I asked her on YouTube, "Are you Tibetan?" She didn't answer me, does she look Tibetan? Or is she Monpa? (For privacy reasons, I will not post... 2 12 replies
Are there any Bru/Reang member or someone from Tripura here? How comes there is such a big coincidence between the name of a community in Vietnam and the Bru/Reang Community? There is also a community in Vietnam whose name is Bru and are also known as Riang. Meanwhile the Bru people of Tripura and Mizoram are also known as Reang too. And here’s another thing, when I hear the language of the Bru people ( called Kaubru), it definitely sounds Austrian-asiatic like Khasi. The consonant and sound clusters is just not Sino-Tibetan. (https://youtu.be/Y4MGoYGJ7No?si=OLAl2jwfiAKNDVt6) Also, the aforementioned Bru people of Vietnam also speaks a language called ‘Kaubru’ which is ofcourse Austroasiatic like Khasi and Vietnamese. So, Reang Bros and Sis,... 3 2 replies

An apology Been lurking on this sub for awhile and man I have seen a lot of NE discrimination, both here and irl. Born in UP, living in Maharashtra, I have seen a significant amount of people trolling people with NE heritage for no other reason than laughs. I just want to render an apology to all those who have faced any form of discrimination/name calling from us (Mainlanders). Sorry that you had to face that. Hopefully one day Indians will be mature enough to unite and live in love and... 2 1 replies

Do u think NE is also falling as a victim under this? It seems like the central government is pushing for Hindi to be the national language of India. And states who respect federalism are standing against this. So how much does it affect NE in reality when the central government is allegedly pushing this agenda. People say that it's a part of a larger plan for 'INTEGRATING' the unique states with dominant culture of India. 2 21 replies
