Hi, fellow Northeasterners!
How do people from your state perceive other Northeastern states? As an Arunachali, this is how the average Arunachali perceives other Northeastern states: Nagaland - Cool people, good fashion sense, great aesthetics, musically gifted, up-to-date with the latest trends and pop culture, friendly and fun. Underground activities in Eastern Arunachal. Also, yummy axone pork woohoo! Mizoram - Similar to Nagas, except less friendly and fun. They like to stick to their own kind and love speaking in Mizo Tawng (nothing wrong with that, though). Traffic discipline. Meghalaya - Also cool people. More educated than us. Shillong = Nice place and an education hub for people from all over the Northeast. Kwai. Manipur - Good at sports and games. A dangerous conflict zone. They say "assss!!" a lot (when disappointed or frustrated). Every Northeasterner has learnt the swear phrase "Namai Mathu" from the Manipuris. Sikkim - Serene mountains and chill people. Tripura - Dominated by Bengali immigrants. Indigenous tribes are a minority. To be honest, the average Arunachali doesn't know much about Tripura. Assam - Same as the mainland. Kela! How I think other Northeasterners perceive us - Backward, wild, Bollywood influence, funny Hindi😅. Please feel free to share how people from your state perceive Arunachal and other Northeastern states. P.S. These are not necessarily my opinions, so please don't come at me if they offend you. I am simply presenting the general opinions of the Arunachali people. Also, this post is not meant to stir up communal hatred. It's just meant to be a fun casual thing. So, please take it lightheartedly.2
