My dog and cat love me

Everyday my dog and cat run towards me, stand on two legs and hug me. They want me to hug them back and pet them. This happens several times a day. They are always happy to see me. This makes me believe that there is something good/valuable in me after all. If I'm gone no one in the house would treat them nearly as nicely as I do. I'm making a positive impact on someone's life, in a way. But then I think the reason they give me love is because I feed them. They are simply 'programmed' to love and get excited when they see their 'provider'. I have not had the same experience with humans. Even though I have helped, made favors, shared something with people, they want nothing to do with me. They just don't want my friendship. There is nothing good/valuable in me then. I just don't make a positive impact on people, I guess.
