How to eat spicy noodles without hyperventilating?

My gf is half Asian and has a nice tolerance to spicy noodles I want to be the same . She ate it way faster than me and I’m slow af at eating it I had to run to the bathroom it gave me a runny nose . At the same time the noodles taste so good but I want to eat it without all the struggling . Anyone have any tips? I am white English
