Nice to neet you
I’m a 29-year-old who has faced significant challenges since the pandemic. During that time, I was in a semi-NEET situation with some psychic vulnerability. However, I managed to stay afloat by working part-time and pursuing a history degree, where I had made good progress. Unfortunately, in 2023, I contracted a chronic illness, which has brought ongoing health problems. Over time, these issues have increasingly impaired my cognitive abilities, and this year, stress led to a major crash—daily headaches and brain fog—making it impossible to focus on my studies. As a result, I couldn't get good grades and I dropout of my degree. I lost confidence of myself, as navigating this chapter of my life has been tough. Thankfully, my parents have been supportive, I have had luck by volountering I got contact with a therapist that has help me with my chronic health issues. However, the treatment is expensive and I am poor. I need to secure a job or unemployment benefits soon because I’ll lose that welfare support otherwise. Despite my efforts over the past six months, I haven’t been able to find work. I am tempted to try security as my last ressort. Looking ahead, I’m bracing for a challenging new chapter and feel somewhat pessimistic about my prospects thus why I made this post here. My main hope is that welfare aid might sponsor me for a new training program next year, which could provide a fresh start. As I am ascending to neetoud I am looking forward to stream video games and play with friends in the meantime now that my health is better at least.4
