Why women travel in Men's compartment in trains??

I've nothing against women but lately I've seen wom en travel in men's compartment alot. Is there no space in women's compartment, no there is in the morning. If mother or old ladies travelling together or any reason it's justified. If any of you know please reply and let me know. It's really not understandable.
