Finding my Music Taste

do you guys have ever tried exploring as what kind of music do you like apparently every time i see someone who has a great music taste ends up telling me how good kendrick drake and kanye west is which is true but i can sense that this admiration is because they are popular coz common how can everyone have same taste so i am trying to find and explore music in a diffrent way can anyone suggest some artist that is good but not popular or atleast tell me how to find music that just suits my taste
