Passport application stuck for months

So basically I applied for a passport in March this year. After verification I was called to the police station to submit documents. First time I didn't have my father's and mother's leaving certificate but still they went ahead. I also received a mail that a request for police verification has been sent and a message was also received that police will come for verification in 2-3 days(They didn't come). They again called me a second time but I had all the documents ready. Only issue was that the dob in my mother's documents was different everywhere but they didn't say anything about that and only mentioned that lc doesn't have place of birth mentioned. I tracked my application status where it's showing that it's under verification at the RPO. Then again I received a call two days ago asking me to go again. How long will this go on?
