Ashok Vada Paav

A few days ago, I gave the wrong drop location in Uber and ended up 300 meters away from Ashok Vada Pav. I hadn’t known about this place until the night before, when I’d watched a bunch of hype-filled videos about it. Thanks to Google Maps’ ‘recently viewed’ pin, I realized I was right near it. As I was walking towards it with great hopes, I saw the vendors mixing the filling with bare hands, and ducked out. After a few days and a series of incidents, there I was, standing in line for 25 minutes under the hot sun and taking my first bite, and wow. It was a flavor explosion—tangy, spicy, savory, and just wow. But as I was relishing every bite, I found a stray hair in the filling. I have been numb ever since.
