Questions for the people who live here and can't speak Marathi.

What situation were you in where knowing Marathi would have been super useful? My friends and I went cycling during the lockdown and would have probably gotten in a lot of trouble if my Marathi speaking friend didn't talk with the cop. Are there any other situations where it is necessary/beneficial to know this language?
