  • People killing or trying to kill rich people

I grew up in the underbelly of criminal gangs in the 80's where movie producers would get shot and killed, people would get stabbed on railway bridges, thrown out of trains. The same shit is playing out now. Thinking of Maharashtra as a whole, crime is increasing be it Kolhapur or Beed. Koyta gangs running their operations in tier-2 cities too. No wonder the former CM of Maharashtra rejected government security and hired private bodyguards. Whatever boon the the economic liberalisation of the 90's got us is being eliminated by the social welfare schemes costing top dollar(please look up this term before commenting) to the state & central funds. We don't have enough money left for ISRO scientists or research. No offence to religious people but "Jai Shree Ram" as a term was never used in the 90's or 2000's. It gained traction in the past decade. Some NRI even tried to force Selena Gomez to chant Jai Shree Ram in the US. And look what it has got us. Seperation of church & state(please look up this term before commenting) is the need of the hour for our democracy. I personally say "Shree Ram" and know people who say "Ram Ram" in their daily lives(before you question my religious beliefs). Don't even get me started on the Kumbh Mela type crowds in the trains or the traffic all of us suffer through. Rampant and unchecked construction, corruption by road authorities, shutting down of government school should be enough evidence that the people in the government think of us as sheep. Rich people getting tax cuts, buying luxury cars only to avoid tax is the norm these days(few people I know have found ingenious ways to avoid tax). A waiter or security guard who earned 10k per month in 2014 is still earning the same amount even today. The dude probably ate Paneer twice a month back then is thinking twice before buying Paneer today. It's time to rethink our goal as citizens. Do we want our kids and grandkids to go through this shit over and over? Or will we take a stand before the bullet is directed towards us? Don't think that, "Oh, but I live in an ivory tower, my kids will be safe". They will have to venture out into the real world some day. Ask questions to the government authorities, be a pain in the ass for them, only then we can get what we want.
