Failed my last chance to clear a subject, lied to my parents, and now I’m lost
In 2022, I moved to Mumbai to pursue engineering (I’m not from Maharashtra). Last year, during my final year, I received a year drop because of one subject: AME-1. I was devastated and didn’t know how to tell my parents, so I lied to them. I told them that I was opting for an integrated MTech program offered for free by my college, claiming companies weren’t visiting due to the recession. My parents aren’t educated, so they had no idea. They trusted me. Financially, my family is stable, but today was my last attempt to clear AME-1, and I know I’ve failed. I couldn’t even attempt passing marks, and now I can’t afford another drop. The only positive thing I did during this time was completing a barista course and starting a job as a barista last month, earning around 20k. But I know it’s not enough to save or start the business I dream of. I’m completely lost. I don’t know how to face my parents or what to do with my future. Any advice or suggestions would mean a lot right now.2
