Vstrom 250 after 11500kms!! In approx 1.5 years.
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 - 1.5 Years / 11,500 km Review Major Cons: Low Suspension Travel: The 120mm front suspension travel is inadequate, especially for off-road conditions. I’ve experienced bottoming out on several occasions, which results in an unpleasant noise. This is a significant drawback for a bike marketed as an adventure tourer. The suspension feels more like that of a Gixxer, rather than a true ADV bike. Ergonomics: At 6'2", the ergonomics don’t quite suit me. The handlebar position feels awkward for saddling, and I have to bend quite a bit. While handlebar risers could be a potential solution, I’m not sure if they’ll fully address the issue for taller riders. Seat Comfort: The seat is quite hard, and after 60-70 km, your bum will start to go numb. You’ll need to adjust your position often, and you’ll have to take breaks regularly on longer rides. Brakes: The braking performance is acceptable but lacks the sharpness and bite that bikes like Royal Enfields or KTMs offer. It’s adequate for everyday use but could be better. Instrument Cluster Buttons: The buttons for controlling the instrument cluster require excessive force to operate, which can be frustrating, especially while riding. Horn: The horn sounds weak, almost like a small scooter’s horn. Not ideal for a bike of this size. Headlight Throw: The headlight is disappointingly weak, comparable to a cheap torch you’d find in a convenience store. Long-distance highway rides are difficult without additional auxiliary lights. Clutch: The clutch is hard, and after long rides, your fingers tend to ache. A lighter clutch would be much appreciated. Clunky Gear Shifting: Sometimes, shifting gears can be clunky, making the riding experience less smooth. Pros: Smooth Engine: The engine is smooth, with a good balance of power and refinement. It performs well for city commuting and touring. Fuel Efficiency: The bike delivers excellent mileage: 34 kmpl at 90-110 km/h 40+ kmpl if you keep speeds below 80 km/h (although that can be boring) In city traffic (Bangalore), I get around 31-32 kmpl. Affordable Service Cost: The service cost is quite reasonable. At a premium Suzuki showroom, I pay around ₹1,500-2,000 per service. Great Road Presence. Engine Tuning: The engine tuning is well-suited for both off-road and touring. Inbuilt Charging Socket: The inbuilt charging socket is incredibly useful, especially for long rides or when using GPS/navigation systems. Accessories Installed (Over 1.5 Years): Crash Guard HJG Owl Aux Lights (Not recommended—these malfunction intermittently.) Motocare Saddle Stay RCB Grips Additional Notes: I’ve been using Motul 7100 oil since the first service, and while I haven’t noticed any major differences in performance, it’s been reliable. Do I recommend this bike? Test ride all the bikes in ur price range and come to decision, while the mechanics remain same for all Major concept of ergonomics changes based upon ur built so its, diffrent for every one. Happy RIDIN!!!!4
