Second thoughts and dilemma in buying my first bike

Family wants me (22M) to buy a scooty because they want my sister also to learn to ride. Ok fair enough, I suggested we can get a 2nd hand scooty for under 50k which still gives me room to buy my bike. But no, they only want a new scooty. I've looked for months for the perfect bike for me, being a fairly new rider, and I've settled on the CB350 RS. From the reviews/blogs I've seen, it seems reliable, beginner friendly, and it perfectly fits my needs for city riding (almost daily) and occasional touring. Also i intend to keep this bike for as long as it runs. Second thoughts are if I might be spending too much money on this bike. On road is max 2.8L. If I get a new scooty there's no chance I can get a bike for another 6-7 months and i really don't think it's worth waiting so long. There's no question here I'll probably end up going for the scooty and wait to buy my bike, it's just a little frustrating after wanting a bike for so long, researching for months, coming so close to buying and then having to wait again. If there's a better solution I'm not able to think off then please lmk. Also this is my money. I'm not spending my parents money.
