The Vanishing Wolf: Surviving in the Changing Wilderness of Maharashtra
An animal that thrives in open grasslands, and scrub forest. But unfortunately for it, that is where humans have also thrived since millennia. The Peninsular Wolf is thus nearly wiped out in India, and survives in very difficult circumstances in human dominated areas. Maharashtra's rural areas are home to a sizeable population of surviving Indian Grey Wolves. Here, outside Pune lies a sanctuary where one can observe a couple of packs of these beautiful animals.
