Seagate external hard drive not mounting…

Hi folks I've used a Seagate external hard drive to offload a ton of stuff over the last few years but suddenly it's stopped mounting on my Macbook pro. Any thoughts about how to deal with it? It shows up grayed out on disk utility when plugged into both my laptops and running first aid returns an error… thanks!
