“Remind me” feature on iOS and MacOS don’t sync

As the title says I’ve recently started using the remind me feature to plan follow ups for my mails on my Mac. Today I just noticed that these reminders aren’t synced to my iOS device. So here’s my question: Am I being stupid and not using this feature correctly, or is it just not possible?
