Muting app (game) audio when switching apps on macOS?

Is there a way to do this? Basically while gaming, I sometime cmd+tab to watch videos, however the game audio continues to play instead of muting. This was never the case in Win 11. It was easy to alt+tab into apps without audio leaking.
