How to make root folder /projects, /docs in mac os?

I want use **short and clean** paths like `/projects` and `/docs` instead of ugly and long paths like `/Users/alex/projects`. When I try to create it I got error sudo mkdir /docs mkdir: /docs: Read-only file system How to solve it? P.S. Making the alias would work too `sudo ln -s /Users/alex/projects /projects`
