Giving an application file access before it asks

TL;DR - Is there a way to let an application access my Documents folder before it asks for that permission? Google isn’t being helpful for answering this. TL - I’m trying to play Myst III: Exile on my M1 MacBook Pro. The previous two Myst games asked for Documents access before it could save the game, so I expected the same of Exile, and it does ask. It also does something fun when it asks - it locks the keyboard and mouse so it’s impossible to move the cursor over to “Yes” and click it. Unfreezing everything requires using option-control-shift, and the game is closed once everything loads back up. My only other idea is to give the game access without that prompt opening, but if there’s a way to do it from the Security settings panel I’m not seeing it. Anyone have an idea?
