Dial iPhone from Mac without going through FaceTime -- possible?

I would like to be able to place an outgoing call on my iPhone (i.e., dial a number) from my Mac. Ultimately, the idea is to integrate this into a custom URI handler and/or AppleScript. I know I can set up FaceTime to use my iPhone to handle tel: links. However, while that uses the iPhone to make the call, the call itself goes through my Mac -- and I also have to manually select "OK" to make the call in the notification window that pops up. Bonus points if there is some way to specify which eSIM is used to make the call. I'm not sure if I'm asking this correctly... I've googled this quite a bit, and am coming up empty, although I suspect it's because I'm not able to ask it correctly!
