Would accidentally hitting the escape button during external HD to HD file transfer matter?

Quick dumb question: I am on a macbook air and I had two external harddrives plugged in, transferring the contents of one harddrive to the other. since it's 2TB and I have no way to plug in the macbook, I dim the display all the way down to save battery as the transfer takes several hours. Well, the escape button is near the dimming button so I hit it by accident during the transfer. I thought nothing of it at first but then being OCD, I started to worry if it impacted the transfer. thoughts?
