I ended up having two Applications folders after assigning the home volume to an external drive.

I recently purchased a new M4 Mac mini base model and have set up an external drive as my primary volume by relocating the Home volume to the external drive. Everything functions as expected, except for one peculiar issue. For some reason, I now have two applications folders: one in the internal drive and the other in the external drive. Both folders display the ‘App Store’ icon on the blue folder icon. Consequently, regardless of where the apps are located between the two folders, they appear in the Launchpad, effectively treating both folders as a rigid Applications folder. The problem arises when I enable the \[Download and install large apps to a separate disk\] option. After doing so, I encounter an error message stating “Unable to Download App” whenever I attempt to download apps from the App Store. Disabling the \[Download and install large apps to a separate disk\] option allows me to download apps and manually move them to the Applications folder in the external drive. However, this solution does not resolve the issue of app updates, as the App Store erroneously believes that the downloaded apps no longer exist. I am seeking assistance from anyone who has encountered a similar issue or possesses knowledge of how to resolve this problem. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. https://preview.redd.it/b0n7f4beta9e1.png?width=190&format=png&auto=webp&s=63e8838ca41f320b7ff29cec59039d6456fd4980 https://preview.redd.it/94dca4beta9e1.png?width=838&format=png&auto=webp&s=b795792ac302eaeebc0e6f2cae1589331a7c4998 https://preview.redd.it/pgywt3beta9e1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=33d4344102ff504f655caa672a84a47d47decdd8
