Print settings preset not saving properly?

I print patterns very often and any scale other than 100% distorts the pattern when its printed. I saved a printing preset with scale at 100% but when I open a new document and select this preset, the "preview" drop down menu resets to "scale to fit" and "print entire image." I want the preset to save the setting for scale at 100% so I don't have to select "scale" and type in 100% every time. Hence why I created the preset, but the scale settings reset. Or am I not comprehending this correctly?
