Outdated iMac

I have a 2012 iMac that’s of course been stuck a couple OSes behind for a few years now. It seems like this year might be its last, as notifications trickle in from all my apps that they’re going to be unsupported for my OS soon. Goodbye Spotify, goodbye Steam, goodbye Google Chrome… I don’t know that much about computers. Is there anything I can do to extend the lifespan of this iMac, specifically for those apps and others than will stop supporting the OS? I figure I’m close to out of luck. If it helps anyone think of other ideas, I’m really hoping to just keep this thing kicking as a web browser, word processor, and Crusader Kings machine.
