Move maximize button to title bar

I don't understand this huge erection Apple has had for the past 30 years for preventing people from maximizing windows. For the longest time, you could not maximize a window in any way without making the window full screen -- you could only stretch it vertically. Then in Ventura they finally decided you could maximize windows, but you have to hover over the (/) button, wait, then click the filled square button. Why. I don't understand why we can't just maximize a window like in literally every other window manager ever made. So the question is: Is there any tool, utility, hack, etc. to just move the "filled square" button out of the submenu and onto the title bar where it belongs, so I don't have to point, wait, then click it every time I want to maximize a window?
