M4 Mac Mini Display and MacOS Scaling
Hi, I currently own a MacBook Pro 2017 base model with a very old (but 4K 30Hz) monitor from Samsung. I’ve just recently purchased the new M4 Mac Mini and it is on its way. I am looking to upgrade my monitor too. I was initially looking at the BenQ MA27OU for about £449, but it said 4K, and my current monitor (as mentioned) is also 4K, but when I set it to that, everything from the GUI to apps looks super zoomed out, and very uncomfortable to read, so instead I just use 1080p (scaled down from 4K native in settings) - as 1440p also looks too zoomed out. So I’m also looking at the BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710Q as it has a high refresh rate and is 1440p, and is half the price (£200). I’m just wondering which is better, as MA27OU has great software to control the display. So honestly I’m not sure. Will it look good on 4K/not zoomed out, or will it have to use 1080p, and if I go for MOBIUZ, will it be ok to downscale to 1080p and not lose sharpness/quality? (For reference I attached 2 images - one with 1080p, and the other with 4K on current display) - I prefer 1080p look4
