Just bought a new mac for the wife

Hi guys, Windows user here. I just bought a mac for the wife, and i'm wondering what basic apps are needed to enjoy macos. Do i rly need an antivirus ? She got it for daily internet scrolling and write some courses (she is a teacher). Ty all !
