Getting Mac OS Safari to behave like iOS? (Closing last tab doesn't close window)

Anyone know if there's a way to get Mac OS Safari to behave like iOS Safari when closing the final tab of a single browser window? I really like how the iPad OS always has a blank window when closing out all the tabs. Obviously the default behavior on the Mac is to close the entire window. I get why that's the default, but I'm hoping there's a plist file or utility or something that can be edited to get it closer to the iOS functionality. Thanks!
