Finder copy/move etc is pretty crap
I have many complaints about it, but how do they justify it being so crap, I start half a dozen copies before bed, I wake up and one is still sitting there saying there was an error, no info, just an error code So firstly, why not tell me the name of the file being copied at time of failure or directory or anything, how do i know which of the copies failed without backtracking to work out what i even was copying at the time.. just have to guess? why cant i queue copies one after the other (built in) to avoid issues like this.. nope cant do this okay so i cant queue, wouldnt it be nice then if an alternative i could start a bunch then pause most of them to manually control the queue.. nope cant do that and lets say i have a bunch of transfers going to multiple destinations all sharing the same 10GBe adapter, and one is going slower than it should due to destination network issues wouldnt it be nice if we could see the speeds of each transfer to compare them?... nope cant do that I dont understand, considering how popular macOS is, is there no-one in decision making position experiencing the same issues? do they all just have 10000MB/s usb drives and copy one thing at a time? maybe they dont copy anything? do they even use the stuff they work on? do they not check reddit? wouldnt this be a honeypot of ideas on what to implement next? I get the same feelings when i hear Linux users talk about how good their system is, the only way I would feel happy with linux is if i was doing nothing but the most basic of tasks, everything else is like a bandaid on bandaid solution.. and macos is starting to feel the same for me.4
