Any reason not to delete my Music folder after copying to an external drive?

I don't use the Music app, don't listen to music files on my Mac anymore, and my Music folder is around 150gb. So I'm thinking of copying it to an external drive (just in case I want to use those music files in the future, and then deleting the Music folder on my internal/startup drive. Any reason not to do that, or is there a better way to remove and archive the files? I assume if I launch the Music app again, it will create a new Music folder (which is fine by me)?
