CMS is bad but what are other options

I don't think I have seen more hatred towards a school, from it's own ex-students, than CMS. And I get it. Sounds like school's modus operandi revolves around pushing the kids relentlessly toward perfection, but this approach only benefits a select few, leaving the rest feeling neglected and unsupported. So my question is what are other/better option. Millennium school doesn't challenge their kids academically at all. And Goenka/DPS crowd give a snooty vibes.
