Is Vattavada / Kanthalloor a good destination for New Year's Eve?

Thinking of travelling to Vattavada or Kanthalloor for the New Year' Eve. Does anyone has experience in this route in this time? Wanted to know if the route to Munnar from Kochi would get super crowded.
