Travel from Bangalore to Trivandrum?

Hey guys has anyone travelled from bangalore to tvm by road? Gmaps shows 2 routes, the salem-nagercoil route (more km less time) The angamaly-muvatupuzha-pathanamthitta route (less km more time) Which is a better road, and safe to travel at night? 😇😇
