Solution for Open parking.

Car owners of Kochi, how do you protect your car if there is no covered parking. My house is rented and has a car porch which is already housing a car. Wife has bought a new car recently and we are planning to park it temporarily in front of the house. The house owner says that we have only 'nadappavakasam' for the road and can't put a temporary tarpaulin cover there. Our house is at the end of the lane and doesn't really cause any nuisance to others if we park our car there. I was looking for a temporary set-up to protect the car from rain and sun. Looking for suggestions and ideas. I thought about car covers but found that it is generally discouraged.
