One day trip ideas with family in Kochi

Hi from Australia, I am visiting Kerala after three whole years! Can you suggest some one day trip ideas with family? I’m looking at resorts not too far from kochi. Have heard there’s fishing in Kumbalangi and they cook it for you right away, Athirampally waterfall facing resorts. Can you all give more ideas and details on this if you’d know?
