Best way to reach mattancherry from KSRTC ernakulam

Hey folks, new to kochi. Need guidance on how to reach mattancherry from KSRTC. I have seen the ferry option. Is it good? What are the costs?? Also is water metro optional in this route?? I checked online, it is confusing. TIA
