How Do I Teach My Kid Malayalam

Malayali here, living in the Netherlands. My son who is now 5, was a very late talker, so we stuck to Dutch and English for a while. Now his Dutch is improving, English is everywhere (thanks to TV and friends), and it’s time for Malayalam! My wife and I speak Malayalam at home, so he knows some words, but we want him to actually speak it - enough to chat with us and family back home. Anyone been through this? Any tips, tricks, or hacks?
