Should not visit Gurvayur/kerala again?

I'm from mumbai, recently went to Guruvayur, Kerala for a friend's wedding. I had to find a stay walkable distance to the temple where the wedding was about to happen, I had enquired few hotels in and around and most of them told 'We don't give rooms for single men', another hotel goes like 'We have been told by police not to give rooms for a single person', Finally I had to overpay for 1 small room in a hotel at 4000 rupees per day as they clearly took advantage of my situation, like seriously? You want me to hire someone to stay in a hotel with me for attending a friend's wedding? I don't think I'll ever visit kerala again, not atleast gurvayur. Haven't experienced something this silly and stupid anywhere in India / overseas. What do you guys think this is about?
