Road accidents in Kerala

Do you think that there is significant increase in accidents here? On the other side I think the news channels are milking on these topic. Being a regular newspaper reader, I used to read accident news on daily basis from very young age. The sabarimala season accidents are common since my childhood. But now the news channels are in search for exclusive content for Kerala. Yesterday I saw they were reporting accidents even from Kanyakumari. Or I am I wrong? If so what can be the reason for increasing accidents?
