I feel the fans and the occasional sound of chairs being moved are part of the silence of a library.

Vacations at Amma’s office meant spending time at the C.H. Mohammed Koya Library in Calicut University. A lot of the books we picked never made sense, but some helped craft a world around us. I have long forgotten the stories I read, but not the silence of the library. I always felt that the sounds of old ceiling fans, the occasional movement of chairs, or a book falling from someone’s hand were all part of that silence. This board helped bring back some old memories.
