Has the unpredictable nature of Mullaperiar or frequent flooding affected ur decision of buying home in kochi?

I was exploring the chances of buying a decent apartment in Kochi, but I was warned by some frs about the long term prospect of owning a home in kochi especially due to the recent flooding that affected a lot of apartments and the mullaperiar dam which the whole state is worried about. I know for sure kochi will have 99% effect on MPeriyar safety. Do you think kochi will be geographically safe from these disasters in the future? I’m saying at least 40-50yrs.
