I am returning from a trip back to Kanpur. How should I prepare for Kanpur's Cold Weather ?

I went for a 16 day trip to Kolkata , where it was relatively much warmer and now am coming back to Kanpur. When I went for the trip , it was relatively warmer in Kanpur BUT now as my friends tell me , it's much colder. Also according to Weather reports , Kanpur is almost 10°C colder than Kanpur. How to make sure I don't catch cold ? I am coming in a 3 AC train but my train arrives at 05:30 AM in the morning, one of the peak cold hours. I plan to wear a kurti with a sweater and a leggings , along with a woolen cap. Should I wear something more , and also what precautions to maintain ?
