Statistics Tips and Tricks

Hello! I struggle with statistics. Not because i can't solve questions, but because it takes too much time (and even then there's a high chance there's a calculation mistake) Are there tips/methods to reduce time in certain kinds of questions? A simple example is step-deviation to find mean. It's common and not really a secret, but it's definitely faster than brute-force calculation. Any other methods which could help reduce time?
