Why do some people base their entire personality on celebrities?

How can someone's entire personality revolve around actors and public figures? Is this really their goal in life? Why put in so much effort into something that doesn’t truly benefit you? Honestly, I wonder how so many fan pages exist. How do they even find the time to make edits and stay active online? Don’t they have other responsibilities? I know most of them are young kids, but that’s what’s most concerning. Where are they actually heading? Parents really need to monitor their kids' phone usage.
