JioFiber merged 2.4/5Ghz bands

Earlier this evening our Jio Fiber wifi signal disappeared, and upon turning the router off and on again (as one does), there seemed to be a new signal with a different (not default) name. The router seems to have merged both wifi bands, and defaulted to the original password. Is there a new firmware update that enabled this? It was quite the hassle since we had to manually rename it and change the password back for our smart home devices to work, and the speed also seems to be much slower even when I'm standing right next to the router.
