Is there a way to access MS 365/ Office for free or at a lower price?

I recently purchased this laptop and unlike my previous one, it does not have MS Office. I wouldn’t mind paying for the subscription if it weren’t 500/month (I’m a student), which is quite expensive for me. If you know any alternatives or a way to get it cheaper, please let me know.
