No one’s watching Chennai’s sewage treatment plants

Chennai generates over 850 million liters of sewage daily, but only about 750 million liters are treated. Shockingly, none of the city’s 22 sewage treatment plants have functional Online Continuous Effluent Monitoring Systems (OCEMS) to ensure proper treatment before discharge into rivers. Under the current DMK Govt, Chennai’s civic infrastructure is in shambles. Sewage plants lack monitoring, rivers remain polluted, roads are riddled with potholes, metro projects face endless delays, and waste disposal is chaotic. DMK is clueless as the city’s basic systems crumble. Is this the “progress” under Dravidian model?
