I am so perplexed to see whom to blame more. First of all she is a literal minor onlg 16, her parents concerns are very much valid, PH house should stop casting these kids for such heavy adult roles. I donot enjoy age gap casting at all but at the same time I understand the structure is not changing. Because male actors get their prime im 30-40 but actresses screen age mostly ends im 30. So they are always in hurry to start early too. So even if I find it cringe, I don't bother about it only if at least girl should be 18(legally) also the story should justify the agegap if they want to show. But at least let your girls be 18 man if you have plan to make her a full time actress in heavy roles. Because it's not only about career but they lose their entire normal teen self where most people actually learn the world and it shows on their behavior actually. Most lack personalities, lack friends of same age range, talk like anupamaa at 20. Other thing is This production so obsessed with minors and pedophilic stories for some reason.
