Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha: Rant on what a drag it is.
I’m probably one of the few people watching Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha at the moment. Well, I think I’m going to stop watching it now. And I need to share a rant about the show because it has been such a draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag! Some examples from the many, many long pointless and annoying instances: >> Almost an entire episode was dedicated to whether Meher will go with the family to do wedding invitations for her son’s wedding. Meher says she will NOT go at any cost. Zorawar insists she go. She says no again. He taunts. Family member 1 shares their opinion. Then Family members 2, 3, 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 follow with more completely unhelpful opinions. Finally, Meher agrees to go. Episode over. >> An entire episode about how will Meghla go home from the hospital. Cabs? No cabs because of heavy rains. Bus? No buses it is transport strike. Guruji’s car? Broke down. Can Ranbir drop? No because he’s thinking some nonsense. Guruji needs to find shishya who has a car, maybe. Adrija thinks garbage. Meghla thinks garbage. Episode over. >> Another episode dedicated to Ranbir wanting to drop Meghla home. She says no. He asks why. She says rubbish. He says more rubbish. Then she “thinks” rubbish and he thinks more rubbish. Then again he asks if he can drop her. She says no. He asks why. Episode over. (Is this code for something else that I’m unaware of? Why is the dude so desperate to drop her home?) Finally, after the gazillion Meher-and-Zorawar-mutual-taunting-over-things-noone-cares-about and can-Ranbir-drop-Meghla-home and lame-lip-syncing-to-beautiful-old-songs and the “kya-hi”-hoga repetitions, when it seemed like the story might progress, Adrija makes a fake suicide attempt. I bet there will be two full episodes of discussing who will take her to the hospital and in whose car. By the time they decide, the fake suicide attempt might just turn into a real one! I thought this would be a romantic tale with convergence of differing cultures and good chemistry. But it is turning out to be a major snooze fest with absolutely NO romance, or any semblance of positivity, in my opinion. How much can makers possibly drag a show? Super tired of this one.3
